Meet Ruben Homburg

Ruben Homburg plays volleyball at a high junior level in Switzerland. On the court, he’s known for his commitment, game awareness, and precision. As a key player on his team, Ruben regularly faces situations as the reception and the service that demand full focus and composure, especially when the pressure is on.

Mental Challenges in Volleyball

Reception and serving are moments where everything comes down to focus and control. For Ruben, these were also the moments where his mind would get in the way, too much pressure, overthinking, or tension. It affected his consistency and confidence. Together with his coaches, Ruben began to look for a way to train his mental side justas systematically as his physical skills.

Integrating myflow

With myflow, Ruben found a tool that helped him train exactly this: mental focus under pressure. The system gave him direct feedback on how focused or distracted he was and helped him learn how to actively regulate it. Since then, Ruben has become much more stable in his performances. His receptions are more precise, his serves more reliable and his team is now competing for the top spot in the league.

Vision for the Future

Ruben wants to continue progressing and take the next step toward playing at a national level. He knows that technical skills alone won’t be enough. The head has to play along. That’s why mental training with tools like myflow is now a fixed part of his development.
